In and around Moose Pass, opportunities abound for enjoying the Alaskan outdoors. Tern Lake, Trail Lake, and Kenai Lake surround this area and provide everything from excellent bird-watching and canoeing to fishing and flightseeing. Numerous maintained Forest Service trails can lead you into the wilderness of the Kenai Mountains for a pleasant berry-picking amble or a more rigorous backcountry hike.


Take a scenic 30-minute drive south from Moose Pass to the oceanside town of  Seward. View glaciers and whales on a Kenai Fjords tour, catch "the big one" on a halibut charter, or paddle your kayak around Resurrection Bay. Visit the many galleries and gift shops and take the kids to the Alaska Sealife Center.

 

Adventure awaits you only a short 15-mile drive to the west: Wrestle with world-class salmon on a Russian River fishing trip, lazily drift along the Kenai River on a rafting trip, or enjoy the area's natural beauty by horseback on a trail ride.
